Today I showed in Ocala at 8:00am and of course my mom and I had to get a hotel last night to sleep in. We had to wake up very early for me to show in Juniors. When we got to the dog show it was very cold outside. Everyone was cold and wearing warm clothes. It was like in the 30’s and we were bundled up and trying to keep warm. Of course I was the only Novice Intermediate that showed up so I was by myself, so of course I got First Place.

I showed Teddy in Juniors and the Judge had to help me untwist the lead. It was wrapped around Teddy and that was very nice of her to help me. The lady was very nice to me. She’s a very nice Judge. I really like her too.

I went all the way around and stacked the dog on the table. Then I did a down and back and free stacked the dog. The Judge gave me a First Place ribbon. When you’re the only Novice Intermediate and you get First Place you then you go to Best Junior Handler. You’re with some other kids that are younger then you or are older then you. I went for Best Junior Handler but I didn’t win but that’s ok.

Mom and I drove out to Brooksville today. This was my second time showing outside and this time I listened. Sometimes I can’t hear and sometimes I don’t listen. Some juniors don’t listen.

The first time I went into the ring I went by myself. The judge told me to go all the way around and then he told me to stack my dog on the table. I then did a down and back and free stacked Teddy in froth of the judge. He told me to do a small curls and then that was it. My second time in the ring, we all went together around the ring and then and stacked our dogs. The judge then had us each got to the corner and then he had us stop half way around the ring and self stack our dogs. We all did the same thing. The boy with the Boxer won. Most of the kids are Master and Open. There aren’t may kids in the Novice class.

It was a nice and sunny day outside today. Teddy and I did a wonderful job.

There are five components to showing dogs in Juniors. The five components are stacking, gaiting, individual examination ring patterns and knowing about dog ownership. I think I do all five components very well.

West Volusia Kennel Club had  a Junior Conformation Class just for kids  in Deland. Their classes are every Tuesday night and I wanted a chance to see what taking a Junior Specific class was like so my mom drove me to the class and I showed Teddy. It was really fun doing it with other kids. Teddy and I did a really good job. I enjoy doing the class with other kids.

Today we went all the way around and then we did a down and back and we stopped in the middle and we self stacked the dog.  We also baited the dog and then we went all the way around. Teddy and I did a really good job except when when he e self stacked he didn’t put his tail up but that’s ok. Every dog doesn’t put their tail up on their own os its ok though.

I came back to the fairgrounds and all three of us were in the ring today. Teddy and I did really well and I got moved up to second place. The Judge saw I was working really hard so she moved me up to second place. I was excited and proud that I got second place. I thought at first I would get third place but I’m happy that I got second place. I’m proud of myself and I’m also proud of Teddy because we did a very good job. Teddy and I rocked it though.

Today we were back in Deland and the Volusia County Fairground and for the first time in a long time, I had competition in my class. I was so excited to have a chance to earn my first point. I really don’t understand what mistakes I made because the girl that got third place was really good. I got second place and the girl with the Bull Dog got first. It’s ok because we will be coming back tomorrow and I can try again. I just wish I knew what mistakes I made.

The judge told me to go all the way around the ring and then he had me stack the dog on the table. I showed him Teddy’s bite. I did my down and back and then a triangle. To do a triangle, you go down to the corner, then to the next corner. You spin and then come back to the judge and self stack the dog in front of the judge. It’s pretty easy to do. The girl with the Bull Dog looked pretty nervous but she did good. I used to be nervier like that, but not any more.
